TRAVELS: FRANCE (PARIS)

I managed to capture this view of the city of Paris while the sun was about to set.
This trip to Paris was a last minute decision. My brother and sister came over to the UK so we decided that while they're here all the way from across the globe, why not take a short trip to this world famous/iconic European city - and hey, summer trip to Paris is always a good idea!
Day 1:
Upon reaching Charles de Gaulle Airport, we straight away took the Metro to the city center and stopped at the closest stop to Notre Dame Cathedral. We walked from the Metro station and took some photos in front of one of this famous tourist building in Paris.
We then continued our journey along the Seine River, where there were stalls that displays really nice postcards, souvenirs, paintings, flowers and other crafts for sale along the river fronts. It wasn't long until we reached the Pont des Arts (Love Lock Bridge), where thousands of tourists/couples attached padlocks with their names on them and throw the keys into the river. This gesture was believed to represent a couple's love and commitments towards their relationship. And of course, the only romantic gesture I did here was took photos with my husband. haha.
While were walking around the city looking for directions and some place to eat, I took some photos of the typical Parisian (traditional) architecture. This is basically what you would see along most streets and corners of Paris.

Day 2:
On our second day, we opt for the main attractions in Paris. First, we headed out to the Louvre Museum. Since we're not much into museums and historic monuments, we didn't enter the museum and just took some photos around one of Paris's central landmark. Thank God for such nice a weather!
We then made our way to the Champ de Mars, where the iconic Eiffel Tower stand tall at the end of the park. When we reached there, the weather wasn't so great and dark clouds started to form just above us; and eventually poured some rain. Once the sky cleared a little, we took the opportunity to explore the the landscape surrounding the tower for some good views. :)

We had planned to wait around the Trocadéro until the sun starts to set and capture some shots of the tower at dusk, but we were too exhausted; since it was summer and daylight was sooo long we just couldn't wait to get back to our guesthouse and rest our feet - cause we're spoil like that. haha
Day 3:
You can climb up to the top of the monument to admire the panoramic view of Paris city where you get to see the many avenues surrounding it including the Champs-Élysées Avenue and also the Eiffel Tower! In order for you to reach the viewing platform, you'll have to climb up of about 284 steps, and costs about 8 € for adults and 5 € for students - which I'm sure is worth the view you get.

From the Arc de Triomphe, we walked along the The Champs-Élysées boulevard; here, you can see the 'high end' parts of Paris. You'll be able to enjoy delightful cafés and restaurants and also luxury shops and boutiques for your shopping treats.
As we walked along the Champs-Élysées Avenue towards the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, we headed for the Pont Alexandre III.
The Pont Alexandre III is a bridge crossing the Seine River from the Champs-Élysées Avenue side of the river to the Esplanade des Invalides side, where we had to take a Metro at the Invalides station to get to our next destination.This bridge is so beautifully and lavishly decorated with ornaments which is to no surprise, we even saw some couples having their outdoor wedding photoshoots here!

As the day was starting to get dark, we rushed our way to reach the Montparnasse Tower. To get here, you can simply follow the routes on the Paris Metro map and stop at Montparnasse Bienvenüe or Gare Montparnasse.
I can tell you this, its worth your time and Euros you spend on this!
You get to see one of the most famous cities in the world, with its landmark included in the view! We purposely booked our ticket to go up the tower at this hour (around 9.30 pm) just to witness this breathtaking view.
There are two main viewing platforms from the Montparnasse Tower; the Panoramic Floor and the Terrace. The Panoramic Floor is located on the 56th floor, an indoor space offering 360° panoramic view of Paris city, where you can also get access to cafés, gift shops, toilets and exhibitions. To get to the Terrace observation deck, you'd have to climb up some stairs from the 56th floor to the 59th floor (three floors). Standing at 210 meters above the ground, you'll be amazed at what the view has to offer! While also offering a 360° view, I personally love the outdoor terrace much much better because of the feel and the outdoor ambient it provides. Definitely a must do when you visit Paris!
You can even get some refreshments while you're enjoying the view.

As we were heading to our guest house, we also stopped to see the Pompidou Centre. For those who appreciates modern architecture and arts, you might want to visit this Pompidou Centre, as not only it is a library for the public, it is also said to be the largest museum for modern arts in Europe, and also caters for music and acoustic research.

We took so many photos to begin with, but I'll just post a few in here cause it'll be weird to see so many photos just with the Eiffel Tower. Haha. If you are from the Champ de Mars side of the tower, I would suggest you walk further across the Seine River to the Trocadéro side and climb up some stairs to a platform where you can get a really good view of the Eiffel Tower.
Day 3:
Arc de Triomphe is also one of Paris's popular landmark. It is a triumphal arch monument symbolizing the French victories, located at the central junction of Place Charles de Gaulle (formerly known as Place de l'Étoile), and at one end of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
